Using the dryer !

Not sure, but won't the constant use of the dryer on a leather jacket eventually remove
whatever natural oils or moisture that is needed , and over a period, the leather will become
stiffer ? I admit that in the past, I have done this on a cold winter morning, but I wasn't sure
if this was a good thing. Now I just warm my clothes before putting on my jacket. Any thoughts ?

Using a dryer on an expensive leather jacket regularly is one of the daftest things I have heard in a long chalk. If you want to eventually bugger the thing up keep doing it as it'll dry out the fibres in the leather which will lead to cracking. It's very much the same reason why you don't put wet boots or a saddle next to a heater to dry out.

Wear your jacket lots if you want to break it in. That's the old fashioned way and still the best. BTW all leather becomes stiff in cold weather, thick horse hide even more so due to its thickness. It's one of the drawbacks of wearing a very thick horse hide jacket in cold temperatures. Unfortunately that's what happens and that's what leather does but a lot of people don't know this and think that the thicker the leather the warmer and better it'll be. Very wrong. If you don't like the stiffness, wear a woollen overcoat or peacoat but for Pete's sake don't your use a dryer on your leather jacket.

Sure, if you do It a lot. I just did it for a few days.
Now it's fine. It has so much wax/oil whatever that I could put it in there for a month and it would be fine.
If it did dry out, that's easy to remedy.
I'm done now with this as its pliable enough for me.
