USAAF crusher caps

Hi,

I'm looking for a WW2 USAAF crusher cap in OD color. Can you recommend a good, reasonably priced maker? This one doesn't look bad, but it doesn't have the crushed look either. I wonder if I can just simply remove the wire or whatever is inside:

Not familiar with anyone peddling 'crushed' crushers. Most of us bash them in ourselves. A good soak in cold water, some vigorous kneading and a good drying out and 'voila!'.

If you know anyone with a Dave Clark green headphones headset and a wig head, you could put the cap on the wig head then put the DC headset over it for a while. That'll give you a pretty authentic crush look. What gave those hats the crush was the removal of the round tube from the wheel part of the cap and the wearing of headsets over the hats.
