Hello everyone!
Quick question for you. Are the jackets in US Wings' Signature Series, the only US Wings jackets that are made in the USA?

I'm experiencing the thought , that might have been a tad confusing.....another way of asking that is........Would I be correct in assuming that no entry level US Wings A2 jackets (that type specifically) are made in the USA?

I own 2 US WINGS flight jackets. A US NAVY type G1 flight jacket and a USAF current issue type A2 flight jacket. Im happy with both but I cant see anything on either label that says ' made in the USA.' However, the quality seems pretty good to me but Im not an expert in leather garments.

If you have to know, E mail them and ask them a direct question. Which of their coats is domestic made ? Then let us all know.

Thanks Steve, Just thought I'd check here first. I'll send them and email and then post here with the answer to share what I find.
Cheers,

Im not upset if my jackets made in Pakistan. Their nice jackets. Not cheap looking either. Way better than the Landing Leathers jacket my wife bought me for knockin around in. Fake leather is obvious too for this Chinese made garment.

My experience, when I have emailed Sgt. Whatever, is that the U.S.-made jackets are much more expensive. I'm not sure if all signature-series jackets are U.S.-made, but I think, if they are, it will be displayed on the jacket description. When they run the sales, it is almost always the non-U.S.-made jackets. This is only my experience, however.

I have a fairly new signature series with a sewn in flag label stating made in the USA.
I like the jacket, good quality and workmanship.

Last summer, US WINGS was selling some G1 jackets for 195 dollars. However, I did also notice that the sale jackets was not available in TALL sizes.

I had a few Made in the USA USW jackets. They were solid jackets. Nice hides, etc. We're just talking apples and oranges here, as you all know...today, I recommend people just look for used "better" jackets. But if you want new, they're fine for the money, etc.

Can you be a bit more specific about your issue with US WINGS ? Your comment is rather vague.

I just looked on the my US WINGS G1 size tag rear side and theres nothing on it. Same goes for the current issue A2 I bought at the same time. I guess they changed the tags sewn on the coats. No indication as to where both were made. Once again however, Im not unhappy. I really didnt want to pay big bucks for a G1 that I intended having several morale patches sewn all over it but it had to be a real leather and not fake.

I saw a Top Gun G1 jacket being retailed for 800 bucks on the web. Does anybody actually pay that much for a movie look alike jacket ? Really ?

And............ whats the big deal on a Buzz Rickson coats and the high prices on them ? Are they really that good or just great marketing on their products ? Im just a rank amateur trying to learn.

Hey everyone! I've been away from the lounge for a few days. I didn't realize I was missing all of this action!! Great discussion. A little fact I did find out, indeed only the Signature Series line are the only ones made in the USA. (excluding some of the Schott's and Cockpit jackets that US wings also sells) So, if it has the made in the USA label it's part of that line. They are quarter to a half pound heavier than the non USA made ones due to thicker quality leather. Interesting! mystery solved! Thanks !

My very first flight jacket years ago was a Landing Leathers jacket. I contacted the manufacture about their leather and was told they were made of pig skin.

Could have been pig skin back in the day but I think the current product is FAUX leather. ( ARTIFICIAL )

I own both types of jackets and the Signature Series jackets do have much thicker leather. I've bought a lot of flight jackets over the years from most of the jacket makers and no jacket fits me better than a US Wings.
