I found this jacket at the thrift shop yesterday ($2.99). From the styling and lapels, I'm guessing it's from the 70s - but since it's Finnish I could easily be wrong (even if it wasn't Finnish, I could easily be wrong).

Sorry the photos are on a hangar rather than me, but I just didn't feel like dressing up today.

I don't think I would. The back has very...box-like...features, which I don't think would be particularly flattering.

Although I would need to see it worn.

Well, to be pedantic here, Turku is very much Finnish, the real Swedish speaking parts are further north on the coast or also towards east on the coast.

Personally I don't much care for the place, but then again I grew up in the Helsinki area, the regional likes and dislikes were pretty strong... And then again, I disliked the whole country enough to move out 25 years ago :) and have no intention of ever moving back there. The summers are tolerable, at times great, though...

The jacket itself seems somehow very Finnish to me, hard to explain. I don't know the maker, Osuma means "a hit" (as in when you hit a target), Kesto-Puku (name of the company) "lasting suit".

The "Woolmark" was introduced in 1964.

Thanks for supplying that bit of info. Just today I bought what's looks to be a 1950s vintage sports jacket (fits great, in very good condition, etc.). But there's that "Woolmark" on the little hook tag at the top center interior, so I figured it had to be more recent. Perhaps it is from the earliest days of the mark.

Anybody ever heard of an outfit called Lawrence Clothes WJW, Inc. of New York and Los Angeles?
