Amen to that. That's quite possibly the only film that has bored me even more than 2001.

I have never made it through 2001. I always fall asleep. Every time. It's better than sleeping pills. I also passed out multiple times before successfully getting through all of Apocalypse Now, Dune, and The Thin Red Line.

Dune! Now there was a real snoozer. Long, draw-out, tons of boring soliloquies and the wierd blurry picture quality makes it feel like you are looking at a film through squinted eyes. PU!*yucky*

For bad accent, see Orson Welles in 1972's Treasure Island, as Long John Silver. You can't tell if it's an Irish accent or not because he's basically unintelligible. For doing Irish, see The Lady From Shanghai.

Edward, I have to agree - After Return of the Jedi, the Star Wars franchise should have stopped. The prequels were wretched, stinking, bloated wastes of time on par with The Lord of the Rings.

After Star Wars the franchise should have stopped. While enjoying the other films, Star Wars had a beginning and ending to the whole thing.

It was with Griff Rhys Jones and Martin Clunes, and was about two English WWII buddies who, after being demobilized (hence the title), tried to make it in show business with the stage act that they developed while in North Africa...really...It was on Granada TV.

Hmmmm... sounds like the intro to White Christmas with Bing and Danny.

I did get it from the library once, but the print was so small I got a headache trying to read it. and it was over 1000 pages long

Exactly my point. I was discussing this with an avid reader friend of mine. He took Gone with the Wind to Europe with him to read. He said that I was wrong. It was more like half the book that never made it to the silver screen. :p
Reading the book gives you a better idea about the movie though. The book never got all involved with war politics and such. It was just everything that revolved around Scarlet. Get a larger print version and try to read it. You might be surprised how you change your mind---or not. ;)

I've never been able to appreciate John Wayne. He can change costumes all he wants but between his voice, walk and general demeanor, the "Duke" seems more like a "Serf". (just my humble opinion)

John Revolta or Tom Cruise - - - flip a coin, can't stand either one. Last Samuri? uhhhhhhhhh, right. Beyond Vinnie Barberino, Revolta Shouldn't have quit his day job.
