I saw this at Walgreens http://s253.beta.photobucket.com/us...g.html?&_suid=1359066864206007874577057036985
I looked up some information on the product. There is a youtube channel on how to use the vintage hair styling kit http://www.youtube.com/user/noplainjanes/feed?filter=2 Some of the hair styles done in the videos are done by Umberto Giannini the creator of the vintage hair styling kit. One woman did a product review on her blog http://hotchocolate4sunshine.blogspot.com/2012/08/you-re-confident-beautiful.html

This is so interesting to me since we ladies here on the Fedora lounge have been perfecting our own vintage hair styling techniques for years. While viewing the videos as someone who has styled my own hair in vintage styles, I can rightfully say that none of the instructions in Umberto Giannini’s videos offer true vintage hair styling directions. Theses styling tutorials are more suited for a retro based hair style guide. However, I do like the tips and tricks some of these videos have to offer.

For real vintage hair styling tutorials you can view them here http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?56507-The-Hair-Tutorials-thread

Hello! I haven't been here for about 5 years but landed here after googling for info re: perms and vintage hairdos and noticed your thread.

I've seen these kits in Boots and they seem like a rip off, 5 rollers and 4 bobby pins (ish) for around £8 but I suppose they could be interesting for newbies to home hairstyling.

What I will say about Umberto Gianni is they do the most kick ass hairspray I've ever encountered! There are a few varieties available, I've only used the 'Catwalk Hair' one because I love it so much I wouldn't risk wasting cash testing out the others. I'm a fairly serious Lindy Hopper and I live in a very rainy northern city and this hair spray is the only one I know that can cope with both sweaty and rainy humidity. Plus, it's flexible rather than rock solid and it doesn't go all flakey if you recycle a set. I just love it (I used to use Elnett but I wouldn't go back to it now).

That is good news about Umberto's hair spray. I've been looking for a hair spray that can be used on third day unwashed hair and will not weight down my hair.
