If you ever get to Portland way and get a chance to see the Midnight Serenaders, take it. The lead female vocalist plays the Uke!

The Moonlighters here in NYC are a popular band of the same stripe.

Cliff Edwards appeared in lots of movies, usually in comic relief as the wisecracking second banana. He occasionally played and/or sang a tune in those pictures, too.

Roy Smeck was the true master of the uke. If you uke fans haven't heard (or, better, seen) him play, you must look him up.

I own a uke, but haven't never gotten very good at playing it, more's the pity.

I own all of Janet Klein's records and have seen her perform live a couple of times, but she's doesn't really wail on the uke, does she? She's more of a vocalist (and a very entertaining one).
