I have for sale a 1970 leather mailbag for the US Postal Service; It was made by Watts Mfg. Co., as a prototype, trying to get the contract for mailbags;
unfortunately for them, the mail service was using the blue nylon bags by then, and wouldn't go back to the leather bags.
SO...what I have is a one-of-a-kind, unused condition,duplicate down to the last rivet & 1/8" leather mailbag- 24 inches across- known as the "back-breaker" fondly by those intrepid guys who always rang twice.
The bag is a very light color- the mfg. co. had to submit the leather "naked".
The bag is in excellent condition, big enough to carry whatever you might need, or be an unbelievable collectible item. There's only 1 in the world.
Photos are available upon request, and I'll keep the price affordable for those serious enough to get back to me and ask for pictures, etc.
Killer piece of US memorabilia- has the LARGE "U.S.MAIL" insignia on the very front of the flap in front. Gotta see it to appreciate it. Going to let it stay here on the Lounge for a few days, and if no interest-eBay.
Thanks M [huh]
