Søren, you've hit the jackpot old boy. Looks bloody fantastic, those boys over at Sefton really know their onions when it comes to making repros.

Good job mate ;)

Excellent Søren, that was the way to go, especially as you can play with this lot and be terrified of damaging it.

You also just know with the attention Steve puts into his gear that it's about as correct as it all could be given most of it's new aside from the hardware.

You just need to find the tiny metal throat strap tip that's on the original helmets- it must be hard for him to make as that and the brylcream staining are the only obvious things missing.

I love it Søren, great photo :eusa_clap

I also like your steely eye "just let Jerry even try it" look you've got there ;)

Stephen had problems with the metal tip, but he has made them now - and one is in the mail. With that done it should be perfect!

I thought I recognised the handy work. I took delivery of one of Steves B type helmets and D type oxy masks. Outstanding workmanship. I learnt the hard way after having bought an original B type helmet from Mick Prodger in the States and then tried it on. Although it was the right size and the leather is in great condition, I didn't account for the stitching. Some of it gave way. After having spent quite a lot on it (OK, not just quite a lot, a large lot) I then had to get it repaired. I did get the leather treated as well though. Would really like to get my hands on the type 19 mic though, as Steve doesn't make these anymore.

Outstanding! What was the damage on that, may I ask?

I believe I paid somewhere in the region of £800.00. When I have posted more than ten times I'll put up a couple of pics (if I can figure out how, computers and IT are not my thing) but it doesn't look any different from Spitfires above. I'll post one of me in Just Jane, sat in the bomb aimers position.
