Two Taubers 50s MC / Patrolman's Police Jacket

On the left is a cross zip motorcycle jacket, on the right is a police patrolman's jacket. I would not know if the motorcycle jacket was a police issue, it does not have a badge holder. Maybe on a police motorcycle and wearing a police helmet, the office wore his badge pinned to his shirt? The size tag on the police jacket is too worn to read the size but I guessing it was 46 the jacket fits like a 44. The MC jacket is tagged. size 40 fits like a sung 38

note the inside belt loop on the MC jacket to hold the back down while riding. The police jacket has wider sleeves made from 2 pieces, the MC jacket has 3 piece arms and a action back is cut with more taper to the helm

Both are incredible. I thought about purchasing the X-zip MC jacket but figured it was way to small for me. Looks like I was right. The seams would be begging for mercy. That police jacket is as good as it gets for the style.

I like the MC jacket fit best. I've owned several of the straight zipped police jackets. I do have a cross zip that doesn't fit me. I have not seen any new sales recently. I have one I will be selling. I've got three Taubers I wear. I know their are some interesting jackets out there.

This is too small for me Taubers. I seldom see a Taubers with the original detachable collars. The collars are more common on Cals. Maybe it had to do with cost? I have two Ralphs-Pugh jackets with detachables.

@jonbuilder nice jackets. I have a soft spot for the police jackets.

In my jurisdiction, only motor officers wear leather jackets, and their badges are pinned to the jacket, using the badge holder.

I know what I would steal. A couple of Hercs, Californian and maybe a Taubers, if I had time. In and out, all stealth like.
