My parents ran a small grocery store when I was young. These bring back a lot of memories.

We had a place in town, "Sid's Market," with a candy counter featuring a lot of the bulk-penny-candy stuff. But the best thing they had was root beer popsicles, "twin size" for a dime. No better way to waste a few minutes on a summer afternoon.

Penny Tootsie Rolls were a gyp, when you could still get a full-sized one for a nickel.

Most of those I've never heard of. As a kid I remember getting sixpence (the old silver one) as pocket money, and being able to buy "Fruit Salads" and "Blackjacks" at eight for a penny.

I guess that makes me old, right?
