I think there's tweed, and then there's tweed, as well. There's looks that I (an admitted very girly imaginary-bride-since-childhood) think could be charming, especially for a morning affair. Leather elbow patches and cordovan boots on the other hand... I would arrange them an accident. lol

If its one of the dressier, "smoother" tweeds it could be all right. No offense but I'm more worried about what you mean about stand out from the other groomsmen. Do you mean different vests and accessories? Or are you wearing tweed and they're wearing...? If it is different, something of similar formality, I hope. You don't want it to look like you wandered in from a different wedding altogether, is all I'm saying.

Tweed For Weddings

For what its worth ( as obviously I am biased) if anything, tweed for weddings seems to be becoming incredibly popular, we've produced a high number of wedding outfits ( and civil ceremony outfits), in some cases the grooms entire entourage of Best Man and Ushers all wear matching tweed.
We have even produced boys suits.
You don't have to go loud, it comes in all hues and patterns, hard to think of a wider choice of options really, and at least you are left with an outfit you will get years of normal use from, this aspect has influenced customers cloth choices.
Interestingly we have just supplied some samples for a high end USA magazine wedding outfit feature so it looks like the fashion is spreading. I can't imagine that it will become passe within a year, but I'm not the best judge of trends.
