I'm thinking I'd like to find a 30s-ish light brown tweed 3-piece with the 3-button SB. Does anyone have one that doesn't fit them or is just looking for a change? I'm a 42 jacket, 36/32 pants. Trolling eBay has resulted in not much along this lines.
Of course, it's getting hot outside and I'm looking for a tweed suit! That makes sense...
I picked up a Bill Blass 2-button the other day (at the alterations shop now). All I had to do was get a little length in the jacket sleeves and on the trouser legs. I also had her take the jacket in around the middle for a more classic look--thrift store: $11) that was cut almost like a 3-button. I'd say the lapel started somewhere between the top button and where a third button would go. I can't wait to get it back. It's a very lightweight suit, so that will go good this summer.
But what are you wearing now that it's starting to warm up? My favorite 3-piece suit is a heavy, charcoal wool and it's almost too warm if the sun's out. Linens? Anyone sporting a white or off-white linen (like a Palm Beach) for spring? Although that wool suit has a fairly heavy fabric, it feels wonderful to wear. It's something about the way the waistcoat and tie hugs your body. It makes my Old Navy feel like underwear.
