If you're considering the custom route again, have you looked at SOSO Custom Made Denim Co? They started as custom made jeans and expanded to jackets including leather. They make a Type II, Type III, and a Storm Rider among others.

Not as well known as the common brands and not totally cheap, but over the years the build quality has improved. I've only ordered jeans however and not tried a jacket. What I like about them is that you can tweak several of the measurements for a customized fit and there is a good selection of fabrics and materials. You can also contact the business owners for fitting advice and they are very responsive.

Thank you. That looks like an interesting website with some nice leather and jackets. I'll reach out to them and see how comfortable I am with getting something custom made. I've had multiple bad experiences in the past (with the exception of a custom ordered Schott 42 long) with custom things but that's probably on my end for not taking the correct measurements.

Johnson Leathers is also a good option for higher quality custom work, but more expensive than the above. There are many threads about them here. I believe they can send a fit jacket first for folks unable to visit the store for a fitting. Their typical production time is about 2 months.

I am considering the Schott 121 myself so I reached out to them and got their measurement spec sheet - attached.

Shoutout to @Jaymig926 for some advice he gave me since he previously owned the jacket. It is interesting that Schott mentions only allowing 3/8" tolerance but the jacket that Jaymig926 just sold in classifieds had a PTP -.75 difference which is a lot! Are Schott jackets usually this far off in tolerance?

Also, thanks to @Aloysius for his gracious responses to my questions as well.

What jacket is this?
Lewis Leathers Western. But the price is so stupid now that the jacket isn't worth it anymore.
Plus I mean, they now up-charging 50 GBP for a size 44. 44! That's a perfectly normal Large! That lousy pricing practice should start at a size 50 & upwards, even though I believe it's not a fair way of doing business. But at a 44??? It's scummy and it's theft.
By that logic, shouldn't then a price go down with 38 & under sizes?
Lewis Leathers thinking they couture all of the sudden...

I tell myself that this blue model is really original. This is the LW model in deer leather.

What do you think?

I agree w/El Marro. Here's an image of my Aero Type 3 in Navy Vicenza. Really super nice jacket that mimics Levi's Type 3 pretty closely. The pocket flaps are more in proportion to the rest of the jacket/style. I got mine about 2 years ago and paid about $750.00 - with the latest increase the price is now closer to $1,300.00 (or more!). If price is of no concern then I'd recommend one like this.

Je n’arrive pas à passer ces rabats de poche, ils sont trop longs. LW fabrique des vestes géniales mais je passerais sur leur type 3.
The shape of the jacket is questionable but on the other hand the combination of the deer with the blue is unique in my opinion.

No argument there. It looks soft and luxurious.

The Aero type 3 is just about perfect in my opinion. I had one in blackened brown Vicenza with the Troy blanket lining. It was an awesome jacket until I started hitting the weights again and outgrew it.
