Trucker-shorts! (shorter than Bermudas)

Now, I look forward for the next bicycle-ride, I tell you!

Some minutes ago, I finally grabbed my most worn out jeans, a classic black Wrangler regular-fit, took my old sharp scissors and "woohoo"! :D

After some trials, I finally managed to cut the legs nice and consistent and the inside-leg length resulted on 9 to 10 cm, which is very good, not too short and matches with the level of 8 cm, retail is partly offering as "trucker-shorts", here in Germany. :)

And I, personally, wouldn't go shorter than 8 cm or even additional slim-fit jeans. ;)

Life's good...

Reminds me of my dad mowing the lawn in the early 80's in Jean shorts/ cut offs that were akin to a denim speedo. I'm sorry but:

Those look like Daisy Dukes to me!
My dad used to wear them just like yours Ton, he cut them so short you could see the bottom of the pockets. Even as a kid I recognized that as a fashion faux pas.
It was a simpler time. Little river band was on the radio, a brown cutlass supreme in the drive way. And short Jorts were perfectly, kind of OK. That time has passed.

So, the final question:

What are the original "trucker-shorts"? Were they selfmade cut-offs? Did they ever exist?

Or are the "UPS"-shorts the original thing??

I did the first bicycle-ride, with my new shorts, before lunchtime, today. Wonderful feeling!!

So, think twice, before you dispose of your most worn out jeans! ;)

Reminds me of when we lived in Germany. Every summer you'd see German guys wandering around town wearing short (and I mean short!!) swimming pants, t- shirts and flip flops. That was the young guys; their elders wore these grey suit jackets with matching grey shorts and a trilby hat.
The GIs wore old cut up denims, usually cut halfway up the thigh. We kids wore seersucker shorts and sneakers.
