Could we get a status check of where we are in the lineup? I'm just wondering how our progress is going overall.

I'm ready to pass the hat along to Tom. Waiting to hear from him as to whether we want to try and meet up or if I should just put it in the mail to him.

Great shots in the museum, Lloyd! Growing up in South Gate we used to go to the LA museums frequently in the summers. I loved the Natural History museum! And the Science and Industry museum, and the Space museum... :D

Anyway, thanks for bringing back memories! The last time I was out that way the Natural History museum was closed. Many of the displays I enjoyed as a kid in the Science and Industry museum are long gone, so it's good to see that some that I remember from the Natural History museum are still there.

Cheers,
Tom

The Hat is on it's way to Tom-n-Perris. The post office says Monday delivery but they've been a day off in all my incoming and outgoing shipments lately.

Ok I know I have been delinquent in my traveling hat duties about posting the progress of our beloved Akubra Traveling hat. Between the rain storms in Souther California and myself getting sick and having my first opportunity to take the hat out I have decided to hide my face while wearing the hat Since It is TOO BIG for my melon! Yes that is a smile under the mask that you see. Like three sizes too big. I am a size 7 1/8 and the hat is a 7 1/2 Wow! So here I am with the hat on my noggen.

I had to go to the city of Riverside, CA today so I stopped by one of the Historical Landmarks called The Mission Inn. It is currently a working hotel and one of the most famous in Southern California and many a president have stayed at the Mission Inn along with many actors from Hollywood. Here are some pictures of the traveling hat.

I Double Dog Dare you to go out into public dressed like that to get action shots :) Better yet, put on a suit with the mask. A series of Luchador pictures for the Hat diary would be awesome!!!

Bill, thank goodness you have followed protocol and only Double Dog Dared me and didn't shoot straight to the deadly Triple Dog Dare. :eeek: Then I would have to get all dressed up and go to Perris and be mobbed from people around my area thinking that Lucha Libre show came to town. Well I just may consider putting on the suit and mask just for the sake of the traveling hat. Also Bill that is another one of my hobbies I collect professional Luca Libre Masks and I currently up to 50 of them.:D

Well yesterday I was out and about in the City of Perris, CA taking pictures of the traveling hat. Here are just a few more and more are coming.

I am standing at the old theater in Perris which is often used in movies. Sadly it is no longer in use as a movie theater. Yes I am wearing the traveling hat which is three sizes too big for my small melon.:eeek:

This was one of the trolleys that was working in Los Angeles during the 1930's and is still in service at the Museum. You have to purchase tickets like you would have done in the 1930's.
