Ok so I just ordered my fist Trashy Diva dress last week, after years of lusting over their clothes. Has anyone here purchased one of their clothing items? I am just curious if their things are as fabulous as they look.

I originally ordered the 1940s dress in the mini bows print (I have always wanted a dress with bows on it they are so fun) but they called me today to tell me that they are out of my size But instead I got the 1940's dress (it reminds me of a Rita Hayworth dress and since I am a huge fan of hers I have to have that style) but the print is the Mini Fluer print. I am so excited. It is for a dance they have back home ever year, called Home for the Holidays, they have a huge big band complete with performers and everything, and it is what caused me to originally be in love with the 1940s. Any how it is a couple of days after Thanksgiving and I am so excited. I will post picture when I get all dolled up in it.

Ooooh, I have the 40's dress (in the cherry print) and wore it to my best friend's wedding - I got lots of compliments on it. You'll love it! I nearly got the Mini Fleur print, but it didn't suit the wedding colours.

I live in New Orleans so I frequent their shops all the time and also have the 1940s cherry print dress. I love the girls that work there. They are great at mixing vintage and modern and are so nice. Their shoe store in the Quarter is also to die for! My only complaint is that their lingerie store has very little in the way of vintage style undergarments.

I cannot say enough good things about Trashy Diva. The designs are lovely, the service is great, and the stores are gorgeous. I try to visit all their shops once a week, since they are getting their holiday items now.

One bit of advice though - if ordering online without trying them on, email or call and ask about the sizing and forgiveness of the fabrics. I fluctuate a bit on what fits me there depending on the waist, and there are varying levels of stretch depending on the fabric. Way back when, they had mostly silk clothing but now they are also doing rayons, cottons, knits, and some blends.

My sister just received a coat-dress from Trashy Diva, pictures below. She is thrilled with it, fits like it was made for her and is extremely well constructed. The pictures were taken almost immediately after it arrived, so forgive the creases and whatnot.

It was her first attempt at make up in a vintage style.

I am wearing the sweetie dress in my avatar pic. I had looked and looked at it, but decided that the cost (with shipping to Canada, $145) wasn't really worth it for a rayon dress. So, I decided not to get it. Then, I had a pretty big disappointment happen in my life and I said to hell with it and bought it to console myself. I love it to pieces! I call it my consolation dress every time I wear it. Probably a good thing I didn't see about the 20% off until it was too late! I must say I really like the look of the Courtney dress LordBest's sister is wearing. It would suit my figure to a T.

I agree Amie I was expecting to find a sight more like Pin Up Girl (personally I wish she could find some models with out breast implants so I could imagine how the dresses would look in the real non silicone world) when in fact it is much more classy.

It has been referred to as "the unfortunately named" site. I read somewhere that the woman who runs Trashy Diva was given the nickname "Trashy" as homage to her love of vintage styles and putting her own spin on the clothes she found in thrift stores, where she would make beautiful clothes out of the ones people tossed away.

I think her dresses are pretty too. They are made in China. In response to a negative Yelp on 11/05/2010, the owner addresses the Yelper's issues with the clothing being made in China and the subsequent cost to customers. Yelp Review

I came across a pretty cotton halter swing dress from Trashy Diva on a blog, found out it was on clearance for 35$, and bought 2 of them in royal blue. On one of them I sewed white ribbon along the bottom to make it a "sailor" dress, the other I dyed deep navy (was supposed to be black) and will soon be doing the same with black ribbon. I have to tell you I LIVE in these dresses. They're flattering and so comfortable, I've even been doing what I can to wear them in our brutal winters even though they're sun dresses. They're like my beautiful non-pajamas pajamas lol. I also have to say I love the fact that they're some of the few vintage style clothes I have that are actually machine washable. I SO wish I had a picture right now!
