Thanks for the tip...

...Edward -

...I do have a soft spot for is Reach for the Sky, the Douglas Bader biopic.

I read a tiny article about Bader many years ago and ever since he's been one of my go-to guys when trying to put a name to heroics.

Memphis Bell, I loved the beginning where they are having a 1 year anniversary and NO plane/crew had completed 25 missions.

A bunch of great British Navy flicks: Noel Coward's "In Which We Serve", a real tear jerker, based on Lord Mountbatten's experiences on HMS Kelly; "The Cruel Sea" with good old Jack Hawkins playing the commander of an escort vessel that takes convoys up to Mermansk, and "Corvette K-229", similar.
Others: "The Story of GI Joe", with Burgess Meredith playing Ernie Pyle, "In Harm's Way", my favorite John Wayne movie, and hey, how about "South Pacific"????
More Royal Navy action: "The Pursuit of the Graf Spee", aka "The Battle of the River Platte". Also: "The Victors", "Captain Newman, MD", and how did "Patton" get left out? SOOO many great WW II flicks.
