Good one! You got me for using a stale example.

The Weight of The Executive Branch should not be used for Partisan Purposes
"Can You Say NIXON RESIGNS!!, Kids?" :deadhorse

I can also say "Hillary's fingerprints on FBI files of political opponents".[huh]

I allow myself this one caveat; this is potentially a very serious matter, is ongoing, just starting to be explored, certainly has political implications and may have a criminal component.

Nixon did resign rather than face impeachment.
Nothing came of the matter of the missing files.
HRC currently sits in the Senate as well you know.

We don't know how the pending matter will shake out but it has attracted a bit of interest. Many investigations later and we shall see what there was to see.

Tally Ho Lads! Our Democratic Republic May Be Saved Yet Again

Here's my plan...

1. The November Elections must be on the square...

2. All else is commentary.

3. See # 1. :arated:

Bring back the Bull Moose Party! I want TR!:eusa_clap

I'm fed up with both political parties and would just as soon they were all kicked out on their collective rear ends. Get folks with fresh thinking in there who aren't beholden to lobbyists and corporations, but instead represent their constituencies.

I know, I know, I live in a dream world where Hell freezes over and pigs fly.

There's a grand Woody Guthrie tune along those lines. That was 70 years ago. Didn't happen yet.

"Common people's got to take their seat ...
In Washington,
In Washington"

Best way to go about starting such a thing is to ignore the party that the candidate is running for. Vote for the man (not The Man) - or woman, or dead person (if Ashcroft is running!!). If everyone did the same, we wouldn't get such ridiculous people being elected just because they're the candidate for a particular party.

btw: is that your real picture on your avatar?

Yep, that's me. The Captain was kind enough to "age" a color photo I had posted in another thread. I loved it so much, I saved it, and finally got around to using is my avatar.

Already do this, bk.:) Voting the party line seems like sheer stupidity to me, so I always vote for the person, regardless of their party. In presidential elections, though, it seems like the candidates I prefer, both Democratic and Republican, never make it to the final ballot. It ends up like that 2004 episode of South Park where the kids have to vote on a new school mascot.lol

I don't remember if he was in that episode. I didn't want to offend anyone's sensibilities, but the election for the new school mascot was between a giant douche and a turd sandwich. As one of the boys pointed out - was it Stan? - it doesn't matter who is running, elections always comes down to a douche and turd.lol
