One of the overlooked talents of all time is Georgie Fame. Georgie hailed from England and is the real “Mod-Father”, even moreso than Paul Weller. Georgie started with little combo beat groups. Some of his earliest records even included ska. He recorded “Madness” before the band Madness did (lol).

In 1967 he cut a big band record that was perfection, “Sound Venture”. Unfortunately it was only reissued by the Japanese, and it’s pretty expensive if you get your hands on one (Mine cost me an arm and a leg). Many of the cuts are available on this compilation though.
