Hey Carrie, I've got a question on how they do the rayon sleeve lining...do they take it all the way to the edge of the sleeve like they do with the linings on their other jackets? And, can they do this rayon sleeve option on their other styles?

Let me get back to you on this...that Board Racer is arriving back to us today after a custom fitting!

I know the weather is just now starting to finally get warm, but it is a great time to start thinking about a Fall/Winter jacket! This Aero Barnstormer in C/X FQHH with a fur collar is an awesome choice for cooler weather...

Recieved my Vanson PLU-3 Friday. Love the fit of this jacket. Sleeves are a little narrower than Aero's racer. Expected the comp. weight to be thicker after reading Styleforum's members talking about it. I guess when you're used to only lamb skin, everything else feels like elephant hide. It is noticeably lighter than the Aero FQHH racer. Will post pics later. Currently at work on a call out waiting for equipment to become available to work on.

Hello
Are there any worn pics of X-150 LEATHER from Vanson?
Thank you,
Ordy

Hi Ordy,

We don't...for what it's worth, we usually only carry Vanson's Comp. Weight and Z150 leathers... Here's a photo of the Comp. Weight broken-in... Please give us a call if you have any other questions about Vanson...we're happy to help out in any way!

Lighter than FQHH? That is interesting. I thought Vanson comp weight was 3.5oz while Aero HH is 3 oz.

It is - or rather, it should be. My Vanson Model A is made form a noticeably thicker leather than my FQHH Aero MC jacket. It is also a heavier jacket. Of course, I can't be 100% sure that my Aero indeed is 3 oz but for what it's worth, it is exactly as thick as my Schott 618HH, which is also advertised to be 3 oz so... Yeah, Vanson should be heavier.

It can depend a lot on the number of interior facings, seams and the type of lining used I think. Some jacket styles also tend to be bulkier than others. I don't know if it would matter that much, but it could help explain the difference in weight. From what I've heard, the PLU-3 has few interior facings & seams.

I keep hearing that the Vanson comp weight is about as heavy as you can get. I think I read here of a Vanson Enfield in a 42 weighing around 7 pounds. That's about 3 pounds more than my 42 Aero FQHH.

My Vanson Model B (size 38) weighs 7.5 lbs. You can definitely get heavier, though: My Langlitz Padded Pocket Columbia in goatskin (approx. size 38, this is a made-to-measure custom jacket) weighs 8.8 lbs... And they also have heavier hides, medium & heavy cowhide. Their goatskin is about 3oz, their medium weight cowhide 3-3.5oz and their heavy weight is 3.5-4oz. I expect a heavy cowhide PPC in size 38 to be 11lbs, easily. Then there is also the 4-4.5oz Aero heavy steerhide, and don't forget Lost Worlds (4-4.5oz horsehide)... Again, weight can also vary between jacket styles. Expect a very long Aero jacket in 3oz FQHH lined in thick sheepskin to be a lot heavier than an Aero CR in 3oz FQHH lined in cotton drill.
