Just last week I placed my first Aero order; Zip Sleeve Highwayman in Size 38 (waist tapered to a 36) in Brown Heavy C/X Steerhide. I've been reading through this entire thread the past 2 days and all the gorgeous pics are so enabling that I also ordered a Vanson Model B and will likely be adding a brown FQHH Fontana Cafe Racer to my Aero order. I did order through Aero's website as I live on the "other" side of the pond, but I will most definitely be posting pics of the Aeros in here when they come in in 6 months *sigh* and hopefully the Model B in 2 weeks! There aren't nearly enough pics of those around here showing off the jacket and fit in detail!

You guys seem to be even bigger jacket enthusiasts than me-- I only have 7 quality leather jackets, Schott and Langlitz to name a few(at age 17, long way to go & plenty of jackets left to collect ^^). In short: I think I'm gonna feel at right at home with all you enabling enthusiasts :)

*end of introductory post*

Post up a photo of your Model B once you receive it. We love to see photos of customers in their jackets!

Thedi leathers are a great find. Carrie, you don't seem to list them on the Thurston Bros homepage?

We've been slowly perfecting our Thedi off-the-rack selections. For example, Thedi sets their main zippers with a naked edge, but we think our customers want a finished, top-stitched edge to the main zipper setting. Therefore, we're getting that done for Thedi jackets that come our way....

Thanks, Carrie. Mainly goes over the head of a sewing layman such as I. If anyone can explain or illustrate …

I see that some Aero J106's have back yoke while some don't. How so? Is the back yoke more accurate?

While most of the Buco J-24 jackets weren't made with a back yoke, there were many D-pocket jackets of the 1940s and 1950s made with a back yoke. It really comes down to the personal preference of the customer...it's the same with the full-action back versus the shoulders-only gussets. These were both popular choices in the same time period, so customers have their choice when ordering the Aero J106!

Huh... Always did wonder about that. Thank you, Carrie.

Carrie,

I'll try to remember to stop by the shop so you can see how the Hudson is breaking in. I still love the jacket and thanks again for all your help.
