The shades of full grain blue that we use for our Aero Cafe' Racers and A-1s are so close to vintage originals that you can't tell the difference!

OK, Worf, you're in too deep now. Which one are you going to get?
Carrie - any pics of the green hide(s)?

Shhh! Quiet man!!!!! You're scaring the Olive Drab horses! I know, I know... I knew I was going to have to get an A1 from Insurrection sooner or later... This Christmas or New Years for me. Sigh...

The Thedi Cafe Racers are the bees knees!!! Don't know which of the two padded designs I like better, perhaps the diamond-stitch one?

Carrie, some questions :

Would these fit like the Schott CAF or do these have a longer body? Tried on a Schott CAF recently and loved the look, different from my Schott 141 & LW B-Ryder.

Being HH, I'm assuming the leather is thicker than Schott CAF?

Any other colors besides black available off the rack right now? Or do we have to place an order & wait a month or two?

For the diamond-stitch one, are the side gore panels really stretchy or just have a bit of give?

For the two with zippers behind the back - is there a v-panel (is that the right term?) underneath like on the sleeves, or nothing underneath?

And price is $850 or thereabouts, right?

Thank you very much. The Vanson and Aero are all very nice too. Just picked up an older Vanson Model-B from ebay for my brother, I think he's going to like it. Also considering Aero cafe racer in brown in the (hopefully) not too distant future!

Hi 2wheelgrplr,

These Thedi cafe' racers have a much slimmer silhouette than the Schott CAF1; they fit much like original Buco J-100s and Beck Cafe' Racers.

The horsehide is very supple and strong...you're correct, about the weight of a Schott CAF1.

On the cafe' racer with the diamond-stitching on the shoulders, the side panels are true accordion leather and they stretch nicely (quite a bit!)...it's not just aesthetics...

For the back zips (the 1260 and 1261 have these), there's no leather behind the zippers.

The price is $825.00 USD, which includes all shipping and US Customs fees... Brown and blue hides are custom orders and the wait time is about 3-4 weeks...

Hope this helps...they're great jackets!!!

Yo Carrie, cheers!

Should you, perhaps, have an Aero's Indian Ranger hanging somewhere close by, could I please bother you for a couple of pictures of it, as I'm having some serious trouble deciding whether to buy it or not? I'm sure others would also appreciate a few photos of this rather elusive jacket. Thank you kindly! :D

Hi Carrie, thanks so much for the detailed reply, answers all my questions. Glad I asked about fit comparison between Schott CAF1 and these as I was assuming fit would be similar, good to know the difference. I really really want one in this style and these look as good as it gets. Will mull over style & color and get back to you guys, probably a little bit down the road as what I really need right now is a proper armored leather jacket that fits me well and looks good on my old airhead, of my leather jackets I don't like the ones I have with armor and the ones I like don't have armor :) Two road "incidents" this past year, not taking any chance! You guys don't do something like a Vanson House with armor pockets by any chance, do you? Thanks again!

20's Half Belt Pockets

Carrie, I know Aero doesn't like to do very many changes on their jackets anymore. I was wondering if it is possible to have the front pocket configuration on the 1930 Half Belt changed from one slanted pocket, to two straight pockets?

We delivered an Aero Indian Ranger just a week ago to one of our customers...an absolutely beautiful jacket! The fit is just a tad larger than the Aero J106, which we use as our fit jacket for the Aero Indian Ranger style. With a bit of luck, our customer who took possession of his Aero Indian Ranger last week will post up photos!

We've found that a really good way to go is the Vanson Model B or Model B House Jacket with either an Alpinestars Bionic Pro Jacket or Knox Venture Shirt underneath for armored protection. We also carry the Forcefield Pro Shirt, but the armor is very bulky...a tad too much for the street. We carry both the Vanson Model B and Model B House Jackets in standard and long sizes (the long sizes are great for our customers who are 6'0" and taller!). I've attached photos below of the elongated Vanson Model B and Model B House Jackets as well as our Alpinestars Bionic Pro Jacket that goes underneath. Keep in mind that we stock standard Vanson Model Bs and Model B House jackets as well!

We're also an Alpinestars dealer and the Alpinestars GP Tech and Atem Jackets are amazing! If you want your armor integrated into the jacket, these are great choices! We're a participant in the Alpinestars "Perfect Fit" program, so we know we'll get you the perfect Alpinestars fit!!!

Carrie, when you say the Aero Indian Ranger is just a touch larger than the J106, do you mean it's wider at the waist? Would it be three or four inches more generous in the waist than the Aero MC? The latter is a great fit in the body for me in my regular size, but at the bottom it's tighter (by about 2"!) than a same-size Thirties Halfbelt, which is otherwise neater all over!
