We've got another Aero Cafe' Racer in the design process...this Racer will be in the vein of 1940s and 1950s American leather racing shirts, complete with "V" yoke, shoulder gussets, slanted chest pockets, and liner of choice. Very simple, but still a stunner!

The jacket pictured below is one of the inspirations, but Aero's version won't have a "split back."

I absolutely love it! I assume it will be available in FQHH? If so, let me know when it's ready for production. I just might have to put my name on that list...

That one Looks a lot like the Schott 660 cafe racer which I own and enjoy.

It does have the slant pockets you'd typically find on a vintage Schott Perfecto cafe racer. But the body cut looks slimmer to me, more form fitting than the Schotts. The body cut reminds me of my vintage Harley Cafe (orange "Workmanship" label.) And the back yoke is distinctively different.

As I said it's like the 660 which is a retro Schott, ultra slim and with the same back seams as this photo. The key difference is that the 660 is deliberately cut long like some of the 1950's racing shirts.

We're currently taking orders for these jackets! Aero will have a few of the prototypes up on their sale page in the next week or so and we'll have our first piece for retail, off-the-rack sale in a couple of weeks. The jacket will be the same fit as our Aero Sonoma Cafe' Racer, but will have slanted chest pockets with diamond Talon pulls, no handwarmer pockets, a "V" yoke, and no kidney panel. Every jacket will have a liner and we're specifying our front zippers to have only one inch of splay between the bottom hem and the base of the main zipper. See photo below for fit...

We're going to call it the Aero Fontana Cafe' Racer. It's fun to name the cafe' racers after famous California racetracks! We're not sure if Aero will be offering this cafe' racer, but, if they do, they may be setting the front pockets a bit lower than we're specifying...

Mystery jacket is indeed an A-1. And, I've gotta say, this is much better than I had expected. I really like this one.

Great looking jacket. Too bad they only make small ones...and honestly, the price would likely keep me away anyway. But I do like it.

That combo of Blue with the Rust knits is killer. I think a similarly muted Green with rust knits would slay as well. Can't say I go for the "poser" look with the open snaps to show his "rodeo" buckle, but I do love the jacket. I'd have to score some of that hide and have one made fer me.

Great thread on Mushmans! What's interesting is that we have been sourcing a beautiful blue full grain cowhide for some new Aero cafe' racers. We eventually settled on the same tannery that Vanson uses for their full grain color cowhides to match some great vintage cafe' racer jackets from our stock! Ken and Wade are also going forward with this blue color in an A-1 jacket, with tan/gold knits...seems like a number of us have been thinking about cool ways to add flair to classic 1920s/1930s designs!

I'm seeing a lot of difference in those blues. I don't think I could do the lower blue-blue. The other is a darker, black blue. Maybe it's the pics?
