Thoughts on these shoes?

Hi there. Let me start by saying that I have a problem with severe overpronation of my feet. This makes finding dress shoes a pain. Recently I attended a Bat Mitzvah and needed dress shoes in hurry. I had grown out of my old ones so I went to Kohls to look for some relatively inexpensive dress shoes that were nice looking. I tried the Nunn Bush Baxter and wouldn't you know it fits great with my custom orthotics. I find that much more comfortable and stylish than Ecco and Dunham shoes (both of which I've tried with negative results. So right now the Nunn Bush Baxter is my only Dress shoe, which isn't really that big a deal since I wear New Balance 992's basicall every day. Still, I want try wearing my Baxters with Jeans as I think that would look smart. So, to get to the point (finally), what do you think of my shoes? Here's a pic from the Kohl's website:

I have a severely pronated left ankle and I feel your pain. I was wearing Nunn Bush shoes for a few years, but I found their support was pretty bad. I have narrow feet, so a medium (D) width leaves a lot of room for knocking about. To make a long story short, I had to get rid of all my Nunn Bush shoes. I now have an ankle brace which helps a lot, but I need to wear sneakers to fit my foot into a shoe when I wear it. I also got a couple pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes that give me good support, but they can be very stiff after a few hours. I haven't tried orthotics yet, but would like to know how you feel about them. I've always found New Balance to be very comfortable.
I think the Nunn Bush are OK, but definitely not as nice as shoes that cost three of four times as much. So there's the trade off.

I got the Nunn Bush shoes, because I needed them in a pinch and they fit. However, I would like to make it clear that my orthotic insoles have a lot to do with how they fit my feet. Without them, my feet would probably be moving around in the shoe and they would be significantly less comfortable. I've tried both ECCO and New Balance's Dunham line. I was lead to believe that since both brands cost twice as much as the Nunn Bush that they would work better for my feet. Ironically, they were more uncomfortable. I attribute this to a vamp that is too low for my foot and causes painful pinching with my orthotics and slippage without them. The differences are that the Nunn Bush I bought has a higher vamp, and closed throat one pieces oxford lacing, more similar to a sneaker, but also the Nunn Bush is an oxford (a term thrown around too loosely with shoes these days IMO) whereas ECCO and Dunham's dress shoe offerings are bluchers only. I would recommend orthotics as I wear them all the time in my everyday (literally) shoes which are New Balance 993. I would recommend seeing an orthopedist for a consultation about your pronation. Were your brace prescribed by an orthopedist?
