Thoughts on lambskin leather jackets from Schott?

I've purchased a Classic 118 Schott Perfecto made from cowhide a couple years ago, I generally like it although one complaint I have(that I have also seen from other people as well) is that it's pretty heavy and bulky. I'd prefer to have something much lighter that I can wear anytime, including in warmer weather in the summer months and generally just less of that heavy feel. I was looking into lambskin leather jackets since I've seen a lot say they are pretty light and would fit what I'd want. I'm not interesting in these designer ones since they cost way way too much sadly. I've seen two lambskin leather jackets that look nice from Schott:

I'm curious if anyone here has either of these jackets and can give any input on how they feel about the quality of the lambskin leather used; as well as the quality of these two jackets overall in terms of how well made they are, etc.? Would you say the lambskin leather used by Schott is good quality?

It's as decent as you'll find for lambskin. Not a hide I'd wear myself, too fragile for me, but that's a lambskin thing not a Schott thing.

You could possibly have a look at Lewisleathers. They have crosszips and veg tanned sheepskin, which is certainly more robust than lamb, but still very comfortable to wear.

I also recommend checking out Elmc, Estman Leather's range of motorcycle jackets. I have their J100, and it's comfortable from the start. Made from Italian horsehide, it's quite light compared to other brands, and it has a great character.

There are Schotts made in Pakistan (if I'm not mistaking) lots can be found in Europe, I guess this is because of Schott in France. They somehow have the licence to produce under the Schott label.

Anyway, look out for the "Made in USA" label on a jacket, those won't be made with lambskin.
As others suggested, sheepskin is quite light and not as fragile as lambskin.

Sorry but this is not correct. There are both men's and women's made in USA models made with lambskin.

I’ve never had a poorly made schott jacket. I have a schott perfecto that i will never let go of and always find myself gravitating to it more so than any other jacket I have.
Lamb is generally much lighter but still made very well. Sounds like a good fit for what you are looking for. However if you are like me and will eventually sell the jacket, you will have to sell for much less than the heavier jacket like cowhide or steerhide.. just my experience.

Learned something today
Large amount of Schott labeled stuff you find on the second market here in Europe isn't made in the USA hence why I mentioned looking for the Made in USA tag. No idea how well the us lambskin jackets are made but the made in Pakistan jackets are very crappy from my point of view.

Yeah, I know that the "LC" series (made for Schott Europe) are much lower quality than the usual Schott standards.

Are they still making the “LC” series? I bought one for $250 on eBay. I think it was from the 90’s. It was a nice jacket but the leather would never develop patina the way I wanted so I resold it for $175.

No idea, the first time I came across a LC jacket was in 2013 at the (long since gone) Schott shop in the Hague. Here in Europe you can find many cheap Schott jackets made overseas (actually if I am not mistaken it is not specified where they are manufactured) and the difference in quality is visible to the naked eye.
