I believe all of their jackets are made to order. They usually have several used LAPD models listed on the website as well

I have one that's over 50 years old - handmade in Califonia, and very high quality. Kosay has deep knowledge of them.

I bought AeroFan's Gibson and Barnes jacket on eBay about a year ago. It is the only piece of clothing I own that regularly gets compliments from strangers. It is indeed EXTREMELY heavy and has barely broken in over the year I've had it. It's my favorite piece of clothing.

Also I've been considering removing the belt loops, as I don't need any more eye-catching details around my midsection. Curious to hear thoughts.

Very nice to see this one! Hope it's been a great second skin for you, and welcome to Fedora Lounge. As for the belt loops, that's totally up to you, but I don't think they draw much attention.
