they make ties in the pattern of many medals and service ribbons. I've bought one for a good friend who got a silver star in 1967. We'll be giving it to him on veterans day at church.

They make the Vietnam service ribbon pattern too.

My thanks to all of you for serving.

Thank You

Thank you for your service in Vietnam. It's because of people like you that we are able to have hobbies, and not have to be constantly searching for food and shelter.

Wow! This guy was a real action hero. He deserves that medal and a lot more. Of course he won't receive the accolades he deserves when he returns but then again this has been a trend since after WWII. Korean War vets got nothing, Vietnam War Vets got less than nothing---just contempt and our Soldiers now are just ignored.
Thanks to all who served and have served. I really think about what a difference they made. The world would be a different place if these fine men refused to go to all these places and fight for what is right. When I was younger I might not have thought so but time and realization set in. I wish it had set in sooner so that I could have thanked my father in person rather than wondering why an only child would give up a part of his life to serve when he could easily have gotten out of it.
I can say thanks to you though Sharpe. You went in and did your share when many ran like hell to get out of serving. It would have been easier than getting shot at and made fun of when you got home but you went anyway. Anyone who goes into that knowingly is a hero. :)

Regards to all,

J

WE HAVE WALKED THROUGH THE VALLEY,

WHERE OTHERS FEAR TO GO.

WE HAVE SERVED WITH GIANTS

AND FOUGHT ASIDE HEROES.

WE ARE WHAT OTHERS STRIVE TO BE.

WE HOLD THE HIGH GROUND.

OK

Let's keep it clean in this thread, gentlemen. If we want to debate the politics of Bush's military service, then start another thread. This thread is to respect Captain Chontosh.

Thanks,

I have goose bumps and chills just reading the story. Thanks for posting it. I'm proud to be associated (peripherally) with the Marines. Ooorah and Semper Fi.
