Another nice WP image to set the tone for autumn: The Brigadier (Alistair Lethbridge-Stewart, played by Nicholas Courtney) in the original ‘Dr Who’ series.

Always liked the Brigadier and UNIT in Dr. Who.

I wore one of my MoD surplus WPs today to do yard work here in Pennsylvania. So, I'm happy.

I checked the Met Office website and it looks like the WPs are good to go in the UK.

Hi John

The Brigadier was always my favourite character in the 1970s Dr Who series (when I was a schoolboy). Funnily enough it was the time I first started wearing WPs and I have been doing so ever since.

I'm pleased to hear that it is Fall in PA. Over here it is indeed WP weather and I am wearing one this morning!

I think I saw mention of the Dachstein Austrian military sweaters in here. Does anyone know how the Mil-Tec version fare by comparison, and has anyone ever seen them in anything bigger than a 50” chest-size?

This morning when I am out and about the temps will be in the low to mid 40s and cloudy, so it will definitely be WP weather. I will wear my WP under a light windbreaker, and be more than warm.

This is the first WP day of fall (autumn) for us.
So Ron, what color WP are you gonna wear when you roll down the windows of that 911 and do some curves? You know you’ll have the windows down!!

Probably the navy WP.

I have to take it easy through the curves until I learn to drive it, It is a lot of car, and I don't want it to get out from under me.

I can vouch for https://outdoorknitwear.com/en/.
Their submariner is the business. Previously I had a 'modern' submariner, made from Merino. It was nice but the neck stretched and the look was not very authentic.
In comparison the Outdoor Knitwear one is easily washable, authentic shape, slightly itchy at first (but that fades).
And if you want something warmer, there is the Beerenberg Oiled Wool Pullover...heavier and toasty warm for cold winters.
This! OK makes excellent WPs and their roll necks are outstanding. Incredibly affordable too!
