Got Electrolux model XI. from late 20's recently. Must admit, that this 80 years old grandpa works much better than my previous new-made plastic scrap.

The fiance and I picked up this Electrolux Automatic Model G yesterday at an estate sale. Got it mostly because its my favorite color, especially for vintage appliances, and only $10!! I have now spent twice that ordering filters on Amazon but it works great with no tweaking, even better then my sisters Dyson and is quieter too but don't tell her I said so ;) It has all of the basic accessories but we are now on the hunt for the specialized attachments.

Yes, some of his replies indicates something like that. To me it appears he's living on some scrapyard, doing this as main job. Unfortunately there are more people like him all over the world. My 59' refrigerator could have ended up similar, if I had not bought it.

I picked this Hoover up at an Estate Sale today for $5. It has deteriorated too much for me to even attempt to plug it in -- and is well beyond my capabilities to restore to working order.. but I thought it made a cool "decoration" in my kitchen as a display item.

It was from an estate sale and was sitting in a corner of a dust and dingy basement where it's probably been for a few decades. The rubber cord is some what frayed in spots (and actually rather sticky). While I was cleaning up the chrome base, I noticed the wires going in and out of the unit were either rusty and or frayed also.

Sounds like just the thing for vacuuming up the puddles on the patio.

(No, I'm not being serious. Tell the lawyers there's more than enough truly reckless people out there to keep 'em in lunchtime martinis.)

At the very least, it's good it has stayed out of the landfill, Bingles. I'm not supposing you have any interest in doing this, but it wouldn't take an expert to address the obvious problems with that thing.

So, I'm walking downtown in my dinky little Midwestern town and I'll be darned if I don't see this new shop open:

Repairs. A collection of old Hoover machines in the window.
