First.

Matjes-herring with "potatoes in the skin" or cream herring-salad with boiled potatoes?
Creamed herring with boiled potatoes.

It sounded so good that I prepared it for supper tonight. Took a bottle of herring in wine sauce, drained it, added a pound of thinly sliced fresh onion, some minced fresh dill, a pint of sour cream, and served it with buttered, parslied fingeriling potatoes, and three bean salad which I put up last August.

Schmeckt Gut!

Can never have too much herring!

Natural body of water.

Hal Le Roy or Al "Rubber Legs" Norman?

"Bananas Forest"?

Do you mean "Bananas Foster"?

That wonderful delicacy which caps a brunch at Brennan's?

I know what it means to miss New Orleans...

Yes, I am a horrible speller, but I think I got "spell-checked" into that error.

I love that you still have a place that serves it. I haven't seen it on a menu since the '90s in an old restaurant in Boston.

I believe you are up for the next This or That.

The dish was invented at Brennans by their famous Chef Paul in 1950 or 1951. It has long been the specialty of the house. "Breakfast at Brennan's" is as much a staple of the New Orleans tourist experience as Poulet Bon Femme at Antoines, or vomiting in the gutter on Bourbon Street.

Oh, and for This or That:

Is this the 17th of April or the 107th of January?
