This is an essential tool for reshaping a hat brim

What is this video supposed to show? They are making a different style of hat. The hat you showed earlier has a specific type of brim that is made to be the way it looks now.

If you plan on removing the curl that it has now by pressing the brim onto itself or undoing the brim binding, you are essentially destroying what looks to be a vintage hat.

Friend, you have a hat with a CURLED BRIM similar to a HOMBURG or a DERBY.

It is supposed to be that way and if you press it, you are RUINING the hat.

DO you want to modify that hat into a fedora like mot of the hats in the video above? Fedoras have the curved flange brim treatment that allows the brim to be "snapped" where the front would turn down while the back of the brim is still turned up. To convert will require losing the bound edge on the hat you have now. That brim edge ribbon was sewn on with the brim edge already curled up so the material is too short to let it go flat readily. The brim on the hat is flat and not flanged so that it would ever snap without several pieces of equipment used for flanging the brim in the manner making for fedora snap brim style. the video attached shows a snap brim fedora that he brushes and then wears with brim up all around and then snaps the brim down in the way they are most commonly worn.

The hat you have is not the same style of hat as in the video you attached (I did watch it all). Your hat was designed to have a curled brim edge. You can modify it by ironing it flat, but then you are destroying some of its collectibility and desirableness.
