This is a question for the gals....

I'm going to bump the year to 1942 because that's when Frank Sinatra performed the song "Always".

I imagine myself with a guy that's tall (but I am not picky--I'm sure there's some pretty gorgeous short men too), brown eyes, with dark hair, and very well tailored. Oh! And a fedora. Got to have a good fedora.

He's about six feet tall, dark brown hair, brown eyes, pale skin. He has nice broad shoulders and a little meat on his bones- not skinny but not overly plump either. He's a little bit nervous (perhaps a bit of a wallflower) who doesn't get up the courage to ask many ladies to dance, even though he is a great dancer. (But obviously, he saw me across the room and he was so instinctively drawn to me that he overcame most of his nervousness. But still, he knows asking me is a gamble worth taking.)

He's wearing a uniform, and of course he volunteered when the call first went out. (Can I make him an low ranking officer? I don't care which branch- but a navy man is a great choice.) I can't really tell what song is playing as we dance song after song, gazing into each other's eyes. We are still dancing after the band stops playing and they turn down the lights, we haven't even noticed the passage of time. They have to kick us out to lock up. We then walk around the town, talking and strolling until daybreak.

I hope my girl friend got home ok- I forgot about her until the next morning!

We give each other locks of our hair to keep with one another while he is off fighting in the war. I keep mine in a locket that was my grandmothers, so I can wear it close to my heart. I write him everyday while he is overseas (and he writes as often as he can). I keep all the letters he wrote to me in a shoebox tied with a red satin ribbon from the roses he gave me on our second date. We get married in a courthouse after the war.

Ok, so that went a little past what is he wearing, what does he look like, and what song is playing. Thankfully I cut it short at how many kids we had and our retirement years. lol

Oooh, lovely fantasy!

For me: He's about 5 foot 11, and hes got dark curly hair and intensely coloured eyes, and nice strong arms. He's a Naval Officer, and is wearing his all whites. The song thats playing is "I Don't Want to Set the World On Fire."
