This video will probably be all over the Internet in days. I just saw it on Facebook. To call this dude a daredevil is an understatement. But this is what Spiderman or Batman or any of those imaginary superheroes would be seeing.

As he alluded to at the end: he's just doing what various city workers do but with less/no safety precautions. In fact, traipsing around subway tracks would be a lot safer at 3AM than at rush hour,me thinks. And BTW, his ilk have been running around NYC for years though not with video cameras, posting on YouTube.

Sorry...I don't see the appeal. This is the same mentality that sells tickets for movies like "Jackass." Those who routinely tempt fate should not be surprised when fate chooses to visit sooner than expected. [huh]

Thanks for sharing this, I'm actually interested in stuff like this, although I've never done urban exploration myself. The illegality in many cases, is a factor behind that.

The man is doing a good service in what he does - giving a voice to the underprivileged and revealing some of the city's unknown history. Like he did, I thought the 100 year old foot print was particularly thought provoking. It's that sort of discovery that gives me goosebumps. The bridge climb I could never do, because I'm afraid of heights. The subway romp I could never do because I can't die before I do something great. I'd be all for chatting with homeless people in subterranean communities.

I have to wonder why he spent so much time fearing being seen doing what he does, especially while filming it, with the intent to and having done, releasing it on the internet. His gig is up I would imagine. I can only hope there's no way to prosecute based solely on the video. I don't think it's worth anyone's time to, but you never know.

Back in the late 1970s when I was living in New York, my daughter's boyfriend (about 17 at the time) and his buddy were into bridge climbing. Rather than climb the girders, they walked the cables to the top of the tower (without safety lines). They did all the major bridges connecting Manhattan - the George Washington, Verrazano Narrows, etc. (they got busted after coming down from the Verrazano, but after his dad bailed him out, they got off with a warning). I have a great photo of him sitting atop a big searchlight on one of the the GW bridge towers. When I moved to San Francisco a couple of years later, he came for a visit and to climb the cables of the Golden Gate Bridge. He invited me to join him and I was ready to go, but my girlfriend and my brother talked me out of it (actually, they threatened to whack me on the head and tie me up). Not doing the climb with him is one of my few regrets. OTOH, considering the fact that I was over 40 and terrified of heights, it's prolly better that I listened to reason and threats of violence. Funny thing is, when he got back to NY, he discovered that his photos from the top of the tower didn't come out and he had no proof that he'd done it. So he flew back to SF a couple of weeks later and did the climb again. Pure madness.
