released in 2007 & bought in 2007

the album released in 2007 was Maroon 5's "It Won't Be Soon Before Long" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It_Won%27t_Be_Soon_Before_Long

especially the song "Wont go home without you" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6voJ1sgY_0

For albums I bought in 2007 but were released earlier:

Hard-Fi's "Stars of CCTV" album and song "Hard to Beat" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cKNa0DQ0I8,

3 Doors Down's "Another 700 Miles" album and songs "When I'm Gone" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GYXm7n62nU
and "Here without you" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TPeR8Aq6BQ

I would say "23" by Blonde Redhead and "Based on a true story" By Fat Freddy's Drop... But there are so many album that I liked, it's hard to make a choice!!!!!!!

I will echo many and say Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black". Also, released in 2007, but purchased in 2008 was Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings "100 Days, 100 Nights".

I dug the latest maroon5 but I must confess that Daughtery is on the same level of Nickleback to me. Generic, bland brooding jock rock. no offense

None taken. I adore Nickleback, too. :D

I confess, I'm not one that really digs into bands other than the mainstream. I've always been one to listen to classical music (especially in high school), Frank Sinatra, Big Band, etc.

I don't know when it was released, but I bought the Killers' last album, based solely on one song: Read My Mind. The video set in Japan was one of the best. Just watching them dance with the little schoolkids made me smile, and every time I heard the song, I did a little happy dance in my car seat--although I burnt myself out a bit once I bought it.

Soulsavers; Its not how far you fall, its the way you land

After the depressing release of M.O.R. by my favorite band, Alabama 3, this was a welcome substitute.

Must be...Tom Waits: Orphans, brawlers and bastards.

I forgot I did listen to it (don't have the CD), and it's actually really good -nothing revolutionary new, but the stuff you expect - in the best sense. If I have to pick one, I'd still say Back to Black, though.

I've enjoyed a good many of the albums cited here, but my favorite of the year was one of the first to come out: Wincing the Night Away by the Shins.
