My buddy and I will be in London for a while in June, what is there for a couple of vintage obsessed cats to do?

June 11-21 are the dates I will be there. What is going on?

Visit Sherlock Holmes' house...

See the treasures of Tutankhamun in the O2 Dome:

Find out about the history of astronomy and Britain's great seafaring heritage in Greenwich:

Be amazed by the wonders of evolution and geology at the Natural History Museum:

http://www.nhm.ac.uk/

Stand aghast at the amazing technology, the heroism and the dreadful loss of war at the Imperial War Museum:

That should keep you busy for a while :O)

It is only by a stroke of sheer luck that I am able to afford it, and barely so.

Thanks for the replies so far, but let me clarify.
I have all the guidebooks, and I will for sure hit up the museums and historical sites. I am wonder what kind of stuff two guys who are into swing/jazz and retro culture can get into after we have spent the whole day immersed in science and history?

I'm a poor student so I'll have to wait for my stroke of sheer luck before I can go too... I hope you have a great time!

Well, if you head to the Elephants Head in Camden on a saturday night there's rockabilly DJs and ask any of the likely looking cats in there for further ideas.

Also check these: http://www.myspace.com/hillbillyhop

Not sure if any of them have events in the week you are in London but you could probably get some good recommendations from them.

And what about shopping? Have you already got all the info on where to shop vintage in London?

Right then...

Portobello Road Market, Notting Hill (tube stop: Ladbrook Grove)
This is best on saturdays for vintage gear but there are also a few great vintage shops there. Notably, the Antique Clothing shop (282 Portobello Road). There are also tons and tons of antique stalls and shops on saturdays and sundays.

Beyond Retro http://www.beyondretro.com/
The east end branch is a massive warehouse.

Camden Market http://www.camdenlock.net/fashion/vintage.html
Plus, Camden is just a great place to hang out on a sunny day.
