Thin Ribbon Penney's Marathon, Late 40s (?), Size 7

The next hat on the chopping block is this very nice cream coloured Penney's Marathon. A very bold-looking hat. Thin 3/8" ribbon with wind trolley. The hat fits as a small-ish size 7 (a little tight on my 7 LO head), and is marked as a 7. The label has come off but i've tucked it behind the sweatband. It has a 2 & 3/4" brim and approximately 4 & 1/2" creased crown. Almost everything about this hat doesn't suit me very well, so off to a better home it goes!

The interior measures 7 & 11/16" front to back and 6 & 5/16" side to side. Circumference is approximately 21 & 11/16". There is 1 moth nibble on the front of the brim - see the font view below. There is a faint discolouration to the back of the crown (maybe where it used to be creased (?) but i don't think so), same colour range as the felt so very difficult to see. And one very small dark mark that seems to be felted in - maybe at the factory? (visible to the left of the moth nibble.) A very wearable hat. There can be no returns based on size or condition.

£25 nets the hat. Shipping to the US is about £8, to the UK to be determined. Personal cheques (checks) or money/postal orders only. No Paypal. I can accept cheques in US$, €, or £.

PM with interest. If you can't PM, post here to let me know you're interested.

Incidentally, this is the exact same type of vintage hat (same brand, style, approximate color and age) that Art Fawcett provided actor Jeff Bridges to wear in the film Seabiscuit.

Now that y'all know it, will somebody finally buy this hat?

There's an auctioned hat up now with mothing that goes right through the felt and it is smaller (a generally unwearably small size) and it has a $50 bid. This is rarer, cleaner, and has the film association for bragging rights.

I suggest you go through some threads and make some random comments, get your post count up over 15, then PM me. "Nice hat" used to be the old favourite for building up post counts.

Although there's absolutely nothing wrong with being more subtle.

By the way, Baron, I must say, NICE HAT!
