I've been watching this like a starving hawk since it's been listed. So glad I got it!

Looks slightly like my Champ Deluxe (which is on its way from Optimo right now!), but I can't tell how similar the color is until I receive this one.

I have a feeling that's going to be a great hat.
You even got a good price on it.
I see you changed your ebay ID. Now everyone will recognize you:)

Haha. The old eBay ID was literally from 1998, and I had been using variations of it since 1992 on the old dialup BBSs. I was Dumbjaw everywhere except eBay and AOL Instant Messenger. Now if only AOL would release unused screennames, I could get it for Instant Messenger, too.

Anyway, I can't wait for the hat -- and yes, great price. The seller had it listed well, too, so the price is curious.

well, to someone wo doesn't know much about hats, they would see that picture and just move along, not knowing how great it could look with a good bash and the brim flipped down. So it narrows the bidding down to people who can see what it really is.

Well done

Nice score D'Jaw.
I was watching that one too but I am glad to see you snagged it when I returned to the computer!
I have an old trashed Champ featherweight that is regrettably et' up with moth (silverfish?) tracks. It has a blue/gray body, permanent teardrop crown w/ a 2 3/4" bound brim, unlined with label with the scale & feather affixed to the interior of the crown & an almost purple intermediate width (1") ribbon. The felt is thin & light but also quite rigid. Its crown is almost like some wool's I have seen in its stiffness and seeming permanence. I can't imagine what trying to rebash it might involve. This one looks far more supple & pliable.

Yeah, I've got a Champ featherweight as well. Bound brim, moderate ribbon, with a minimalistic bow, and blocked in teardrop crown. I like it a lot.

Congrats on the hat!:eusa_clap I was watching that one, thinking I might buy it and resell it (using better photos), but have already bought too many hats on eBay with that in mind.

It arrived yesterday! I'd love to say that I couldn't be more pleased, but there are two stains: one is on top of the brim and one is in the crown pinch. You can see them in the photographs if you look well enough. Nonetheless, this is the softest, lightest hat I own. The crown is like Play-Doh; it'll form to anything that you mold into it. Soft, soft, soft.

Crown: 5.5"
Brim: 2.5"

Above: This is the first bash I tried and I liked it enough to keep it. Remember that I like them a bit sloppy.

Above: I like the back of the hat a lot.

Above: I've never seen a ribbon like this before. I'm sure you've all seen plenty, though!
