I saw this on Retroplex last night. Very stylish film. Set in 1937 in the South.

Keith Carradine
Shelly Duval

Lot's of great clothes, hats and cars.

I really liked the way the radio broadcasts set up a lot of the scenes and help carry the narrative.
Maybe this thread should go in the Radio section?

Anyone else see this one?

This is a really great and terribly underrated movie - despite the celebration of most things Altman this is often left out. It is based on a fantastic book by Edward Anderson who also wrote Hungry Men, a great Depression book (as opposed to a Great Depression book). The book was also the basis for the Nicholas Ray film They Live by Night, which is also good, but not as good as Thieves.

Nice find!
