I just came across a vintage music video of Nancy Sinatra's 1966 hit,
These Boots Are Made For Walking. Very cool indeed. Even though she is the eldest of the Sinatra children, Nancy was very much daddy's little girl.

I wonder just how much of a vintage purist you folks are.
Nearly 40 years later a new video of the same song came out.
These Boots Are Made for Walking,The Dukes of Hazzard......
Yes, it was my idea to see this. As America’s most beloved cinematic hickstorian, I felt it was my duty. (In my defense, I waited for the DVD.) When you aim this low and still miss the target, you have made a crappy movie indeed. At least the DVD came with the Jessica Simpson video for “These Boots Are Made for Walking.”

Some artists own a song, no matter who remakes it. Let Nancy have her one real hit. She owns that song, and no one can take that away.

All the remake did was make it a disposable beat for the latest in girl dancing at the club. They even sampled the guitar from the original. Its forgettable.

Lady Day- I couldn't agree more that the original was 'better'. ;) I only wish I *could* forget the JS one. Oh, my. That was awful. I'm going to go listen to Townes van Zandt, Alison Kraus, Guy Clark, Lyle Lovett, and/or any combination for about an hour so I can get that out of my head!!!

She did a follow up on that song entitled "Sugartown". I liked that one, too, tho it wasn't the kind of classic that "Boots" seems to have become.
Geez, is it over 40 years now? Seems like only yesterday I was stationed at Camp LeJeune NC, and you'd hear "Boots", "Strangers in the Night", by Sinatra Sr, and "Spanish Eyes" by Al Martino on the enlisted men's club juke box incessantly. [huh] Time flies, seize the day!

I had a boss who was in Viet-Nam in 67 (Cat Lai) . He was a member of the "Spoon Platoon" and a General's driver. He told me he was lucky enough to drive Nancy around when she did a show there.
