I like that Thedi is always taking things to new places and new directions. But always instant classics. Not everything is something that would work for me, but that's beside the point.

These do not work for me. I've see a few "hair on" M/C jackets that, when doen correclty are fairly subtle and look rather good. Thedi's designs are always fun to look at, and he's really carved out a creative space for himself. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the single-welt hand warmers that show up on a lot of his designs. They just seem so out of place on otherwise sleek pieces. That olive and black hair-on-hide would be vastly improved if the pockets were double welted and less wide.

I was referring to the shawl collar, farthest right on the last picture. The grizzly on the left of the same picture has the same issue for me, but less obviously.

Ah I see your point, instead ot this big leather patch, you would have it double welted with the opening in the middle, correct? And not mirror that patch and have it double the size

Recently, almost all. I know he's doing his own thing but at a certain point, most Thedi jackets began to resemble typical euro-designs, the kind of stuff you'd see by D&G, Gucci, etc. who are known to often dab into heritage style. There's nothing wrong with that, of course, as Thedi's at least not making the same old repro of the same old thing over and over again but that camo hair jacket, that's exactly something D&G would do.

I like Thedi's patterns quite a bit and the camo hair on hide jacket would look better to me simply left alone without the hair panels. I like it when Thedi takes a classic pattern but cleverly tweaks it, in such a way that it becomes something very modern and unique. That's where I think he's at his absolute best and can't be matched.

Exactly. I bought the Thedi below from the classifieds here and find the pocket construction perfect. I think the same construction would look a lot more elegant in place of the large single welt design. You could still get the contrast between the welt leather and the front panel (like the hair-on-hide shawl collar above) without the same aesthetic disruption. Maybe its just me though...

I was going to say someting similar if you hadn't. Imagine this as a full leather pattern, imagine it as a two tone jacket, imagine all black with black hair panel... Imagine it in many other configurations, and I would believe you would like most of the images that will come to your head.

Hmm... I am on the fence on this one, full disclosure, the hair panel grizzly is a variation of a full custom that was made for me, and on mine which has thick thread, I like it as it is

But, were the thread thickness thinner, I would most likely prefer it double welted

Thanks for directing our attention to this, it certainly helps me considering my next jacket order

Pretty much. Theodoros is an artisan, making experiences and taking a few risks is part of his game.

In my opinion he‘s a real artisan and I really like most of his extraordinary jacket styles, even the ones recently posted on Instagram (the black cowhair halfbelt is perhaps an inspiration by Black Sign Japan) I also think that he gathers many inspirations from fashion brands and leather jacket artisans (mainly Japanese) and (slightly) modifies the styles and/or combines them plus his own ideas....that’s just my personal feeling and opinion.

I ordered a Thedi jacket from Thurston Bros. a year or so ago. I ended up selling it as the cut was not quite a perfect match to me. It was one of the Phoenix jackets in a dark seal and did not have the variations, patina, or grain like that of any of your jackets. I really LOVE the aged-looking stuff that Thedi does! He is a real artist!

My daily belt is from Thedi and it is my favorite belt that I have ever owned. It is thick, durable, aged-looking, and has the custom sand-casted brass buckle. I have been toying with the idea of reaching out to him again for another belt, jacket, wallet, etc.

You did really well, my friend, and I would love to see a 6-9-12 month update as you wear those in!
