Thedi is killing it lately

Part of me thinks too much time has passed (for me) to go with a wilder jacket.
The other part that's still just post-puberty wants a crazy jacket for a change...
I have to think that a Thedi is my next jacket. They strike a nerve with me that nothing else does today.

Didn't you used to ride at one point? Maybe dust the old bike off as an excuse for a nice new bike jacket? ;-)

I love every single one of those. Naturally the cross zips but the Greedo jacket is next level cool!

One of the ideas I've had rattling in the back of my head for a while has been a green bike jacket. That 'Greedo' jacket in all-over the green colour of the sleeves might just be a contender in due course, long as I can be sure of the sizing.

I think this might be my favorite.

The Snake jacket is cool. It's one of the designs that overlaps in the Thedi and BK ranges that I think gave rise to the rumour that Thedi make BK's jackets, them both being based in Greece, though when this was put to them, they both denied all prior knowledge of the other's existence.

I think that the name Greedo jacket should be official. If only Disney weren't mega copyright enforcers....

More likely to be a trade mark issue (typically, a single word is too short to be copyrightable). Disney, like Lucasfilm, have everything trademarked out the wazoo, not least as trademark can be kept in perpetuity. After all, sooner or later there will come a Congress that the Mouse can't persuade to extend the term of copyright in order to prevent their IP from running out....

If there's an action figure of a character, you can pretty much guarantee there will be a trademark on its name. Lucasfilm were all about that right from the off; it's the one truly visionary thing George Lucas did, keeping the merchandising rights to Star Wars. That, in turn, has driven many of the major decisions made since: Harrison Ford argued strongly for Han Solo to die in Return of the Jedi, but Lucas wouldn't have it, because the kids were less likely to buy an action figure of a dead character.

yep, I was ready to place an order on another model (one not shown in this thread). Showed the Misses, she didn't like any of the options so I passed. I love some of his styles and loves what he does to tweak/age the leather.

Used to, yes. In LA, riding got to be a death sport. 90% of the cars have drivers texting and/or talking on a cell phone.
I was dodging cars like bugs. I sold my last bike and now will likely not own one again.
On a fun note, I've been shopping 60's muscle cars so I may go that route in which case a cool jacket would be needed as well

This was my reasoning for getting a new Langlitz. I can only play that card so many times and I think it's been worn out.

I'm in tune with your point of view as I have planned for some time now to buy another bike but can't make myself pull the trigger for the reasons you just described. I did come within a hair though of buying this Steve McQueen, although thought better of it reflecting back on the times I have surgically attempted to repair the damage done by patients going airborne on their cycles.

Went down and came "this close" to buying the new Trumpet MY16 Thruxton. At over $12k+, it was dicey to buy for a weekend toy, but they are absolutely lovely and apparently kick some ass - not to mention lovely!

Triumph hae really nailed the retro aesthic thing, they wered ahead of the curve on that too. A friend of mine bought the first new black THruxton they rolled out in the UK about ten or so years ago. Lovely bike.

Looking at the New Arrivals page on Thedileathers.

This one reminds me of something... I'm not sure if it's Greedo from Star Wars, or The Green Lantern, or what, but something about it seems familiar, and I can't put my finger on it. Normally I don't like two-tone jackets, but the way these colors go together...

I normally don't like two tone either, but the Greedo is really spectacular. I don't think that I'd pull it off, but it would look great on a sci fi fighter pilot. Maybe if I had a green motorcycle...

I've yet to handle one in person, but I hope that will change soon. From what I hear they're very good.

I'm not suure about his moto jackets, but mine (horsehide) is my softest and most wearable leather jacket. The others you mention are heavier and stiffer IMHO. I choose not to wear those others, but on the bike they might be better. I'd ask Theodoros about his cycle leather. Construction wise they are very nice. My jacket feels very high end.

Wasn't the guy who founded Thedi - not sure if that's THeodoros (though it seems likely!) - a former employee with Harley, who struck out on his own to bring his own thing to bike jacket specifically? I'm sure I read a blurb something along those lines. The bike jackets, or at least some of the designs, have CE armour pockets, so they've clearly been designed with that in mind.

The Euro is strong against the pound at present, but if it dips again like it did a fw years ago, this could be a very attractive prospect.
