Why do you say that, Marc? From what I've read the NRA was very popular with the American working class, the very people who would have worn these jeans in 1933.

Of course, that makes perfect sense. I was thinking of the NRA tag in the same way as the WW2 CC41 tags in the UK, which weren't removed (but also weren't sewn in a visible place)

I agree. I have a pair of Indiana Jones close-enoughs that I found at a thrift store that had that done to them. When I finish letting them back out to the proper length, they'll have a 1/4" hem (or less). :eusa_doh:
