It is easily watched 200 times a year in my household. It is the daughter's favorite movie, after Pixar Cars. I'm a HUGE fan, with a room full of props, all the books, 2 copies of the DVD, one Blu-Ray, and recently attended the 25th anniversary at the house/convention in cleveland. Have three Christmas Dream Daisys (1- 1983 model, 2 - 2008 models, one of which is signed by Grover Dill, Scut Farkus, Miss Shields, Black Bart, Randy, and Flick.)

I lost to my son-in-law on Christmas. He got to watch Ralphie instead of me watching A Wonderful Life.
His only brother watches the marathon of Ralphie every single year. It is a tradition. I do like the chinese restaurant scene I will admit. So funny.

It's one of Ted Turner's favorites. As such, it runs repeatedly for 24 hours beginning at midnight EST Christmas. On his birthday, they do the same thing with Gone with the Wind.

Hysterical! You're right though. If there is drama to be created, then it shall be. I'm surprised no one has been sued.

I love Ralphie's efforts to get a Red Ryder BB gun.
It prompted me to dig around my parents house years ago to recover an old Daisey lever-action BB gun.
I carried that BB gun many days through the woods surrounding our house back then.
Fortunately I never shot anybodys eye out.

:eek:fftopic: We gave our son a bbgun when he was about 10 I think. We also gave him some paper targets. One day he stumbled into the house with a totally sheet white face with sweat beads all along his upper lip.(I think he was in shock as I look back) Goofy kid had somehow tested his new gun with target pasted onto a box. He put (why I shall never figure but little boys that age do all kinds of strange things) one hand behind the target and somehow shot his finger at close range. I called honey to tell him what his son did that day as I wasn't claiming him. lol

My Dad had a Red Ryder in the 40's and often reminisced about it when this movie was on...recently my Uncle found it and sent it to me, what a great surprise! The Old Man's Red Ryder, complete with his initials carved in it. And to my knowledge he never shot anyone's eye out either...
