I was flipping through a book of names recently (no, I'm not a daddy-to-be), and I found that "Fedora" is a Greek name meaning "God's gift." Just a fun little fact I thought I'd share.

Too bad it doesn't mean "inexpensive head cover, always made with supreme quality, and readily available."

But that would clearly be asking too much!:p

Just as in cars, houses, or whatever , you get what you pay for.

You can find fedora hats everywhere! You can find quality of all ranges. Everything to the Millerhats.com to the Optimo price range ($110 to $600+).

You get what you pay for...and I have some beatutiful hats that I lucked out on on Ebay....going back 5 years or so. Very nice vintage. I also picked up some treasures from Art when he still had the vintage clothing business. New old stock..1950's stuff, and earlier. New, never worn, in MY size.

My next hat is going to be from Art's shop in Oregon. I saw a sample a couple of weels ago, it was supurbly finished, and the felt is the best I have seen...pure beaver. And very reasonable price. If I had only one hat, it would be the new dove gray one he's coming out with.

Certainly. It's the American, deaccented version of the French writing (F?©dora) of the Russian form (Fedora, or pre-Soviet Өedora) of the Church Slavonic rendering (Өeodora) of the Greek name - Theodora.

Easy as that.

You look very nice today Mrs. Cleaver!

Walter & Theodore Cleaver = Wally and the Beaver! Theodore = Beaver! Fedora = Beaver! Hidden Messages!

The Fedora Code!

Anyway, Art has a gift with these darn things and I know as soon as the opportunity allows one in the budget, I'll be having a conversation with the Artman!
