New to my growing collection of bespoke vintage headwear: The Argonne Denim, a generous-proportioned 1920s-style quarter-panel 8 dart flat cap. Built from crisp, raw 14.5oz Levi's Rigid Denim, and lavishly lined with any one of several dozen scarce vintage silk or cotton cloths (this one is a startling original 1930s cotton print) and leather sweatband and visor.

Custom-built to order, only at The Well Dressed Head!

THE FUTURIST!
The newest model in the Well Dressed Head stable. I created 'The Futurist' fancy flat cap from a single line drawing found in a 1922 menswear trade magazine (see original image). The sophisticated top of the cap features a streamlined curved pleat, inside of which is nestled an inverted pleat. The design reflects the popularity of Norfolk pleats, action backs and vents in the suiting of the day. This cap perfectly complements those fancy suits.

Your choice of a stingy (short) or long, squared visor (like the one shown) and your pick of one of dozens of stunning vintage fabrics in wool or cotton will enable you to collaborate with me in building the perfect bespoke cap.

Meet 'La Gapette', the newest addition to The Well Dressed Head.

Inspired by a design pictured in a 1913 hatter's magazine (the 'Model N.P.', or Norfolk Pleat), this fancy-back flat cap complements the pleated-back suits and coats of the day.

Built inside and out of rare French 1920s workwear fabrics, La Gapette takes its name from a an early French street-slang term for casquette, or cap.

Have a Gapette handmade to order - in this fabric or any one of almost 100 other rare cloths - at The Well Dressed Head!

Carefully reproduced from a 1921 advertisement (seen below), THE KLOSEFIT KAP is available here in this stylish vintage wool crépe with a bold bouclé pinstripe and rich red cotton interior. The unique left/right double snap system keeps the crown 'klose' to the visor for a cap that can't be knocked out of shape, and the dramatic 'V' cut of the 2-piece top will sharpen up any well-dressed head.

Size 7 1/4", or custom order another!
