Came across this link to some wonderful old slides taken in 1939- 43. Of special interest to me are the images taken of homesteaders in Pie Town, New Mexico - a little spot right up the road (US hyw 60) from me. My grandparents also homesteaded in NM, and I can remember the 'dugout" house they started with.
