I get the feeling that if about 10 specific guys on the Lounge sold off their collections, they could buy an island (and a cheap hat to keep the sun off). If you're even questioning whether I'm writing about you, I probably am.

Well I just totaled it up and I have spent about $3300 in the last three years alone. But I can say that out loud because I don't have a wife to slap me around.lol

I hate to mention it but that is less than half of the room. There are more hats on the other wall and others in another room. :eusa_doh: [huh]

That is fairly small when you consider that I just converted an old dresser into a humidor.

As of May 2008 I had spent $3,200 for 35 fur felts (and vintage boxes, and other hat accessories) in a span of 15 months, most of them are very nice. Things slowed down since then, of course, but I still buy some now and then to give away as gifts. As you would normally expect, some of those ebay buys do not work out, so a few of those hang around, as I have not motivated myself to become a seller yet. I have ordered a hat from Art, and have a refurbish job placed with Mike.

I work as a construction field superintendent part of the job is keeping records so the following comes naturally I am not obsessed, I did get caught up and went over the original $1,500 I set aside to buy hat. I picked up 21 hats since starting in June 2008 and re sold 2 of them. Five of the 19m keepers came from fellow loungers.

I`ve made a fortune on my hat portfolio...

I mean...think about it this way, imagine if I had spent the same money on stocks 2 years ago...I`d have half or less of the money left. My hat portfolio has held up nicely!

Good point I bet 10 years from you would cash in higher with stocks than your hats but you miss out looking sharp and felling rich wearing your hats. Myself I would probably have blown the hat money on good liquor and a few weekend get a ways with the wife. Just need to keep life balanced.
