Sorry about that Dumbjaw...it seems lately that anyone and everyone is trying to sell any hat thye can find to get in on the action....some ads have every measurement of a hat imagineable except the right one !

Keep trying...personally if I don't see a pic of the size tag I'll email the seller and ask for a specific measurement but even then the number can be sketchy..

Unfortunately, it's too large for my wife's head or I'd have given it to her.

The email I sent the seller:

---

I received the hat today and I thank you for the fast processing! I do have a comment, however...

In regards to hat size, your auction description states: "THERE IS NO SIZE, BUT THE INSIDE OF THE HAT MEASURES 24 INCHES." The inside of the hat isn't even close to 24 inches, which is approximately a 7-5/8 in hat sizing standards. It measures 21.5 inches exactly, which is about a 6-3/4 to a 6-7/8 size.

It is important when listing hats to take very accurate measurements of the hat circumference on the inside of the sweatband. Aside from a cloth measuring tape, the easiest way is to use string and then measure the string with a ruler. Aside from hat collectors, the only person who will be bidding on a hat is a person who believes the hat will fit their head.

I'm not going to leave you negative feedback because I truly believe it was an innocent mistake on your part. I just request that you to take note of this in the future for other buyers.

No response to this email is necessary. I'm not going to be sending it back to you or demanding a refund or anything like that -- I'll most likely list it for sale on a fedora-based messageboard.

Thank you, and I hope you have a happy holiday season!

Yours,
Matt J. H.
