One thing about the Three Stooges not all of the shorts but many one them will give you an eyeful of the fashions of the era when it comes to the other characters in them.

CURLY CURLY CURLY I cannot be more passionate about this.

First of all, Curly was cute and had a larger arsenal of voices, dances and facial expressions than Shemp. Now, I like Shemp. As dhermann1 (I think) stated, Shemp is more classic Vaudvillian. Curly on the other hand really elevated his character and was more adaptable to film. Shemp played the befuddled and bumbling everyman and Curly was perfect.

Apparently, Healy died in a true Stooge fashion: newspaper accounts claimed he sustained serious head injuries in a nightclub brawl.

A couple of things I like to see is when they are out on the street and you get to see ordinary people passing by. Some of the filming seems to be on the production lot but some seems to be in a real public place somewheres. Star Drugs appeared in a couple I saw last night and I am wondering if that was a real place.

If you watch the Little Rascals and they are in a real neighborhood they said they filmed a lot in the Culver City area. That is a pretty hilly area in some places and there are several hilly episodes like in Free Wheelin'!

AFAIK, no one has written a song titled "The Shemp Shuffle". There HAS been a song, and accompanying video titled "The Curly Shuffle". Nuff said.

Fast forward to 4:36 in Half-Shot Shooters. I think that Curly improvised this singing bit and the other two just let him do his stuff. It's also the third time I've seen the song (I'll leave it as a surprise) referenced in 1936 movies.
